Fighting Crime As a Social Responsibility
The national or local police department is the main sector in a society that takes care of fighting crime within their autonomy or area. On the other hand, fighting crime or doing some crime-busting tasks is a social responsibility and to take care of the individual self is to be concerned of the safety of the larger scale of the society. Following this line of thought, crime fighting is doing the part of being a citizen of a society by being aware of possible threat or danger to the overall serenity within a community.
It is a sad fact that the ratio and proportion of a policeperson or a law enforcer to the individual he or she has to protect has a large gap or discrepancy and if these individuals will solely leave all the responsibility of crime fighting or protection to this guy in a badge, then these malefactors will have an easy victory in doing their felonies. The point of making some criminal records to be available for public use is for the individuals to check these notes for them to be aware who are not-so-good or who are the good guys within the neighborhood. Being suspicious or having a sort of gut-feeling may not be that proven by scientific facts; however, acting upon it creatively is definitely not a bad idea especially if the intention is for the protection of peace within the surroundings.

Criminals can be lurking and waiting for the right timing to unleash their not-so-good deeds anytime, anywhere to anyone within the neighborhood. If individuals feel something doubtful or suspicious, they can easily access the Internet and check available criminal records or they can always call or contact some police hotlines to report unlikely activities or movements in the area.
One may reason, to some extent or degree, why criminal records are publicized is the fact that each and every citizen has to do their fair share in fighting crime in order to safeguard the overall peace and serenity within a community. It simply means that even without a badge or rank, every individual must be a law enforcer in their own terms and not just let the outnumbered persons in uniform to carry or do the big task or responsibility of maintaining peace against these sorry malefactors.
