The Most Basic Definition of the 192.168.2.1 Internet Protocol Address
The default or factory assigned Internet Protocol or IP address for some of the home broadband routers or network devices available in the market these days is the 192.168.2.1. This IP or Internet Protocol address is actually an entry or contact point in a router or a network connection device in order for individuals to access the internal system of the device through the GUI or the graphic user interface page or screen. Thus, using a preferred browser (the application or a program that lets computer users to access the Internet, the webpage and the like), the individuals should enter or type http://192.168.2.1 in the address bar then hit the enter key or button.
There will be most likely a pop-up window that will ask individuals to key in the GUI or graphic interface’s username and password which is usually the word ‘admin’ on both fields while in some instances ‘admin’ is already in the username field all the person has to do is just key in the same word ‘admin’ at the password field. On the other hand, the password is set to just the digit ‘one’ or ‘1′ while the username is still ‘admin’ and in some instances; the digit ‘one’ or ‘1′ should be entered on both fields but in other brands of router or modem, the username field should be left as is or blank and the password may either be ‘1′ or the word ‘admin’. If any of the given workarounds does not work, then before doing a hard reset, make sure that there is no WI FI access around (if device or computer is wireless) in order to make sure that the person is not accessing another router or modem.
Since this is a technical issue or matter, if these basic troubleshooting steps are proven to be not working, then individuals can already resort to the last option of calling assistance by contacting the technical support hotline or a neighbor or somebody who knows how to handle this type of problem. Setting some technicalities aside, this router or network device address is a private Internet Protocol Version Four or IPv4 network address and it simple indicates that an individual cannot connect to a router from outside the local network utilizing this specific Internet Protocol or IP address and for this reason; another address will be used in the form of the public Internet Protocol address of the router.
