Log out of the configuration menu and verify if your new settings are now working. On the address bar of your web browser, type the new IP of 192.168.2.1. This should give you the same configuration page of your router. Enter the default password of “admin” if you still haven’t changed the password; if you did, enter your chosen password.
You should be able to access the configuration menu with your new linksys IP setting. Now, it’s important that you change your linksys router wireless setting password from it default to your preferred password. This is necessary to ensure that your wireless router settings are secured and private. Otherwise, you are opening your connection to risks.
On the configuration menu, go to the administration tab where you will see the option to change your router configuration setting password. Enter your desired password and you need to confirm your new password in the field that says confirm password. Hit the save settings button and your password is now changed from default to your preferred password.
To verify if you have performed the right linksys IP Setup, you should log in with your new IP and your new password. If you are able to access your router’s web page, then your new setting is now working. Start to enjoy connecting to the internet wirelessly.
